BCUC Volunteer Tournament Director Posting

Do you love Ultimate? Do you love running tournaments? Great!

The BCUS is looking for a Volunteer Tournament Director for the BC Ultimate Championships – July 13-14th in Vancouver.

Your duties would include:

Executing the day to day operations of the BC Ultimate Championships
Managing 3 to 4 different field sites over the 2 days.
Coordinating with volunteers at the various sites for set-up, take down, etc.
Liaising closely with Regional Coordinator
Having a valid Driver’s License to drive the Cube Van and do a Costco run (Costco membership not required)
Reporting Scores to RC each night
Other duties as needed by Regional Coordinator

This is a volunteer position, though a $200 honorarium may be provided. A First Aid certificate is a plus.

Kevin Lee took Christina Grant’s concept and digitized it. He vectorized the photo of the drawing and painted gradients and shades into the illustration.

Hey Ultimate Friends,

My name is Scott Dillon and I am working with a group of fellow Ultimate players to host an event to raise money for Ultimate Peace- a non profit that teaches kids in conflict areas to get along through the sport of Ultimate Frisbee. This event will include a showcase game between our top club and pro team- followed by a large outdoor screening of the highest quality Ultimate videos on the interweb. We are collecting national and international submissions- and would Love it if you would forward the below email flyer to those in your ultimate community.

William Arlotta has been one of the driving forces in the B.C. junior Ultimate scene for over a decade. As the Junior Coordinator for the British Columbia Disc Sports Society he has actively supported the growth and development of junior Ultimate in B.C. Through his leadership and dedication William has helped oversee the growth of the largest junior Ultimate program in Canada.

2013 Vortex Junior Tryouts

Vortex 2013 (aka: BC East) is beginning to ramp up for another summer. Once again we will having two teams this summer (one guys and one girls), that will targeting on competing in the Canadian Junior Ultimate Championships in Vancouver, Aug 12th – 14th. Each team consists of approximately 21 players. We are also pleased to announce that we have all our coaches from last year returning.

We are starting with some pre-tryout camps at North Surrey Secondary Oval on Saturday May 11th and 18th, from 10am to Noon. This is a great opportunity for players in the FVJUL to come out and work on your game skills before the tryouts which will be held in the last week of May (after provincial championships).

More details on Vortex will be available at the pre-tryout camps.

We will be announcing details on tryouts shortly.
