UltiPros Ultimate Academy – building leaders on and off the field

BC Ultimate would like to inform you of a new organization we are supporting, UltiPros Ultimate Academy, a venture dedicated to building leaders on and off the field through the Sport and Spirit of Ultimate.

UltiPros is aiming to address two challanges the Ultimate community is facing. The first is a scarcity of organized, high quality, off-season Ultimate training for youth. UltiPros upcoming Winter Academy is offering sessions for both elementary and high school students. The Academy will run from January to the start of the Spring Ultimate season in April. A future Fall Academy is also being planned for September to November 2017.

The other challenge is a lack of young, trained and certified Ultimate coaches. UltiPros will be addressing this through their Leadership in Training program. As of right now, they have 17 LITs representing six high schools in their program. In 2017, the LITs will be running clinics in elementary schools to practice the skills they’ve learned and expose more students to Ultimate.

UltiPros has asked that you please make the players on your respective Ultimate clubs/teams aware of this training opportunity. If you have questions and would like more information, the co-founders encourage you to call or email them. Their contact information is below as well as their website and social media channels.
