Check out CUC Mixed this week!

Did you know Canadian Ultimate Championships for Mixed and Mixed Masters are taking place in Surrey at Newton Athletic Park Aug 23-26?

Come out and support all the BC teams taking place, and see the best teams in Canada compete for Gold. You can sit in the Strange Fellows Beer Garden, adjacent to the Showcase field, have a cold beverage and cheer on your favourite teams!

VC Ultimate is also excited to be back on the West Coast at CUC Mixed and will be at the event for all four days. They have all the official merchandise for the tournament as well as BC Ultimate and VC-branded gear. Stop in at the store and do some shopping!

Volunteer at CUC Mixed in Surrey!

The best Mixed ultimate teams in Canada are coming to Surrey next week! The 2018 Canadian Ultimate Championships will see the Mixed divisions compete at Newton Athletic Park from August 23rd to 26th.

Come on out and help at CUC Mixed, and get up close to all the action taking place. Volunteers are needed for scorekeeping and other duties, and hours can be used to fulfill high school volunteer requirements.

Event dates and times:

  • August 23rd – 10:00am-6:00pm: Round Robin play
  • August 24th – 9:00am-6:00pm: Round Robin play
  • August 25th – 9:00am-6:00pm: Playoffs (Mixed Masters Final @ 4:30pm)
  • August 26th – 10:00am-2:00pm: Playoffs (Mixed Bronze @ 10:00am, Mixed Final @ 12:30pm)

 

If you can’t come out and help, stop in to watch some action and hang out at the Strange Fellows Beer Garden. High profile games will be scheduled on the showcase field adjacent to the Beer Garden for the entire event. The Beer Garden will be open from noon-6:00pm on Aug 23-25, and 11:00am-3:00pm on Aug 26.

Juniors BCUC 2018 Results

This past weekend, Newton Athletic Park in Surrey hosted the Junior divisions at the 2018 BC Ultimate Championships. With all teams interested in CUC: Juniors already having spots at Nationals, teams were playing for seeding, the BC Championship and pride.
  • In the Jr. Women’s division, Vortex downed Eclipse to capture first place, with Bonfire and Mischief from the North Shore capturing 3rd and 4th respectively.
  • For Jr. Open, the tables turned as Eclipse defeated Vortex to grab the #1 spot out of BC. Savage from Richmond came 3rd with Mischief from Vancouver grabbing the 4th position.
  • Congratulations to all the teams who participated in BCUC and good luck to Team BC as they head to CUC in Brampton, ON.
