Youth Ultimate Development Program

BCU is proud to announce our Youth Ultimate Development Program! Earlier this year, BCU was awarded a grant from ViaSport BC to fund a project to improve physical literacy and build leadership for youth in BC through Ultimate.
The program aims to train coaches and volunteers to maximize the development of athletes and improve recruitment and retention in the sport of Ultimate. BCU is currently in the process of developing this Ultimate initiation program and will be sending out a representative to various communities in BC.
As part of the program, our representative will be giving out Ultimate Starter Packs that will help facilitate the overall goal.

Ultimate Canada – 2013 Fall Quarterly Update

UC Grassroots members,

I would like to touch base on a couple of items.

1.  Attached is the  2013 UC Update.  A French version is currently being translated.

2.  Ultimate Canada Conference presented by VC Ultimate.  The 2013 UCC is coming up this November.  The UCC is a great chance to network with other Ultimate organizers and attend some great sessions!  This year features both a development and administrative stream.  More information is available at:  https://canadianultimate.com/index.php/en/about-uc/1/288

3.  Development project.  As part of Ultimate Canada’s partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Canada we’re looking for associations that are interested in partnering with their local Boys and Girls Club to teach Ultimate at the clubs.  There is funding and support for these partnerships from the Art Hawkins development fund.  If you are interested in running a program with the Boys and Girls Club in your community, please let me know.

Vancouver Ultimate League AGM

The 2013 AGM will be held on Wed November 6. This is our most important gathering of the year; as a VUL member, we hope you can attend! The evening will include:

•    Annual reports from the Board and Staff
•    Question & Answer periods
•    Possible motions (to be confirmed)
•    Board Elections – 4 positions are available
•    Plus lots of appetizers to start, and free R&B beverages at the end!

Elections: Do you want to help direct the future of the VUL? Or know someone who does? Then consider running for the Board of Directors. The Board is responsible for decisions that can have significant impacts on the society. Nominations and declarations will be accepted until 6:00pm October 30, and the list of candidates will be posted on our website by November 1st.

When & Where: November 6 at Heritage Hall, 3102 Main St (at 15th).
•    6:15-7:00 pm: Registration (you must register by 7:00pm in order to vote)
•    7:00-9:00 pm: Meeting
•    9:00-9:30 pm: R&B Social
