2026 BC Summer Games – Zone Coordinators

Following our successful participation in 2024, BCU is proud that ultimate will be included in the 2026 BC Summer Games, which will take place July 22-26 in Kelowna, BC. Teams will be made up of 14 athletes with birth years of 2011, 2012 and 2013, with 1 team coming from each of the 8 BC Games Zones. (Kootenays, Thompson-Okanagan, Fraser Valley, Fraser River, Vancouver Coastal, Vancouver Island, Cariboo North-East, Northwest)

Each Zone will need a pair of Zone Coordinators to act at organizers of the BC Summer Games effort in that region. Zone Coordinators responsibilities include:

  • Main point of contact between BCU and your Zone Team;
  • Lead the search for and selection of the Coaching Staff;
  • Work with the Coaching Staff to promote the BC Games opportunity to athletes in your Zone, and support the Coaching Staff with player evaluation and selection;
  • Organize logistics for the Team ahead of the BC Summer Games.
The BC Summer Games gives younger athletes a once in a lifetime opportunity to play our sport at a Multi-Sport event. Athletes from 2024 have participated for Team Canada at the Pan-American Youth Ultimate Championships and are among athletes competing for spots on the 2026 WFDF World Junior Ultimate Championships.

The positive response we had from players, coaches, coordinators and spectators following the 2024 Games was amazing, and we are committed to making 2026 an even better experience for everyone involved.
