2024 BCU AGM – Announcement

The 2024 BCU AGM will take place virtually on Monday, December 9th from 6:30pm-8:00pm.

If you are interested in attending please fill out this FORM. Those who register will be sent the meeting link and AGM documents 2 weeks prior to the AGM.

Those indicating they are interested in running for the Board or Directors or who have New Business for the AGM will be contacted by the General Manager.

By-Law Change

The current Board of Directors will be submitting a substantial change to the current BCU By-Laws at the 2024 AGM.

In short, these changes will align BCU membership with Local Sport Organisation (LSOs) rather than individuals. This model is common among Provincial Sports Organisations (PSOs) and is similar to how Ultimate Canada operates, with PSOs rather than individual players being the voting members at AGMs.

Voting will be weighted to the size of each LSO based on the same calculation Ultimate currently uses to weigh the voting strength of Provinces at their AGM.

It is hoped that this new structure will allow a greater voice for all ultimate community members in BC by allowing their LSO leadership to attend, vote and speak for all of their local members.

Specifics of these changes will be distributed along with the meeting notification and posted on the BCU Website 14 days prior to the AGM.
