Registration now open for 2016 Spring Equinox Turf Tournament

The Vancouver Ultimate League and BC Ultimate are happy to announce a new Vancouver tournament for those who can’t get enough of 5-on-5 ultimate!

On March 19 and 20, Trillium Park in Vancouver will host the first annual Spring Equinox Tournament. Usher in spring with two great days of ultimate with your friends!

Using the VUL 5×5 rules, co-ed teams can register starting today. Teams will be grouped into 3 divisions (A, B, C) based on the skill level you provide when you register. Don’t miss out!

Team Fees are only $250 – that’s less than $10/day per person!

5 vs 5 Junior Turf Tournament – April 16

Junior players – interested in playing more 5-on-5 ultimate this spring? The high school season is starting soon and tournaments are just around the corner!

7th Annual Juniors 5 x 5 High School Championship Tournament
Saturday, April 16th, 2016, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Empire Turf Fields (East Hastings & Cassiar Connector, Vancouver, BC)

What is 5 on 5 turf ultimate?
– 5 on 5 (3 boys/ 2 girls) play on a smaller field.
– Sub on the fly with a hand tag.
– Continuous play after initial pull. Possession changes after each score.
– Faster pace and more touches on the disc mean increased opportunities for skills development

Tournament details:
– Open to High School aged players.
– Minimum 10 players per team (at least 4 girls)
– FEES: $175 per team (proceeds will go towards the Art Hawkins Fund)
– Field food & a twoonie BBQ provided
– Senior and Junior Divisions (based on demand)
– Maximum of 20 Teams – Sign up today!
– Special appearance by Riptide players + all players get FREE tickets to the Riptide v Seattle Cascades game at Swangard that night!

Udderbowl 2016 registration now open

One of BC’s favourite co-ed tournaments is back for 2016 – registration for Udderbowl 2016 (Nanaimo, BC) is now open. Details from the TDs are below:

 

Nanaimo is happy to announce that they will be hosting the 20th annual Udder-Bowl Tournament in Nanaimo on April 2-3, 2016!

Games will be held at the McGirr sports fields again this year, in two Competitive and a Spirit division. There will be plenty of 20th anniversary themed mini-games and spirit prizes.

The party is going to be downtown at the Queens night club. Suggested hotels will be downtown this year as well (info to be posted shortly).
