2016 BC Provincial Team Coaches & U-19 Tryouts

BC Provincial Team Coaches

BC Ultimate is pleased to announce the following coaches who will lead our U-19 Men’s and Women’s teams in 2016! Both teams will train and compete for gold at the 2016 Canadian Ultimate Championships this August in Edmonton, AB.

Head Coach (Men’s) – Jon Hayduk

Head Coach (Women’s) – Rena Kawabata

Assistant Coach (Women’s) – Troe Weston

Assistant Coach (Women’s) – Mike Fung

All three coaches have extensive experience at the highest levels, both as players (Traffic, Furious) and coaches (Alpha, Vortex). We look forward to another top finish in 2016!

 

BC Provincial U-19 Team Tryouts – May 1st, 2016

Tryouts for both the Men’s and Women’s 2016 BC Ultimate U-19 teams have been announced and are coming up fast! This year’s open tryouts will be held on Sunday, May 1st at Empire Field from 9am – 1pm in  Vancouver.

Following the open tryout, invite-only tryouts will be held on May 4th from 7-10pm at Memorial SW field in Vancouver. Final roster selections will be made by May 15th.

BCUS Provincial Team 2016 – Now seeking coaching applications

BC Ultimate will once again be running our U19 Provincial Team program in 2016, with the intention of sending a highly-competitive men’s and women’s team to the Canadian Ultimate Championships in Edmonton, AB this August. We are now seeking applications for coaches to lead and chaperone these two teams for the 2016 season.

Play Ultimate at the Kamloops Legacy Games this April

The Legacy Performance Games is dedicated to the development of excellence in sport, and will be including ultimate among its 2016 events. The Kamloops Ultimate League is responsible for running ultimate at the Games, and they are looking for teams interested in participating! Ultimate will be played as a mixed 5 on 5 format on the best fields Kamloops can offer. Compete alongside X-country biking, roller-derby, basketball, pickle-ball and others.
