BCUS Provincial Team 2016 – Now seeking coaching applications

BC Ultimate will once again be running our U19 Provincial Team program in 2016, with the intention of sending a highly-competitive men’s and women’s team to the Canadian Ultimate Championships in Edmonton, AB this August. We are now seeking applications for coaches to lead and chaperone these two teams for the 2016 season.

5 vs 5 Junior Turf Tournament – April 16

Junior players – interested in playing more 5-on-5 ultimate this spring? The high school season is starting soon and tournaments are just around the corner!

7th Annual Juniors 5 x 5 High School Championship Tournament
Saturday, April 16th, 2016, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Empire Turf Fields (East Hastings & Cassiar Connector, Vancouver, BC)

What is 5 on 5 turf ultimate?
– 5 on 5 (3 boys/ 2 girls) play on a smaller field.
– Sub on the fly with a hand tag.
– Continuous play after initial pull. Possession changes after each score.
– Faster pace and more touches on the disc mean increased opportunities for skills development

Tournament details:
– Open to High School aged players.
– Minimum 10 players per team (at least 4 girls)
– FEES: $175 per team (proceeds will go towards the Art Hawkins Fund)
– Field food & a twoonie BBQ provided
– Senior and Junior Divisions (based on demand)
– Maximum of 20 Teams – Sign up today!
– Special appearance by Riptide players + all players get FREE tickets to the Riptide v Seattle Cascades game at Swangard that night!

BC Ultimate is hiring – BCJUC Coordinator & Junior Coordinator

BC Ultimate is hiring! We are looking to fill two critical contract positions that will help execute and deliver the Society’s youth programming for 2016.

1.) BCJUC Coordinator

The BC Junior Ultimate Championships will be held on May 28-29, 2016 and is one of the largest junior ultimate tournaments in North America. We are seeking a tournament coordinator to oversee and execute the delivery of this year’s tournament.

2.) Junior Coordinator

The promotion and growth of ultimate at the youth level is central to BC Ultimate’s mission and programming. We are seeking a Junior Coordinator that will oversee initiatives and programs related to BC Ultimate youth programs.
